Paco Magsaysay, the creative force behind Carmen's Best, explains the process that goes into each and every pint. With access to pure and fresh cow's milk from the family's dairy farm in Laguna, it seemed only natural to go with ice cream as the logical next step. With an ice cream maker, Paco whipped up a few fresh batches, and his hobby eventually turned into a successful small business. In 2013, Paco enrolled at Penn State's Ice Cream Short Course where he finished with the top prize, the Keeney Award. Since then, Paco's small business has gained a loyal following, with a growing distribution chain allowing more local consumers to experience real ice cream. And some awards along the way, including being judged as the 2011 Filipino Artsanal Ice Cream Overall Winner and inclusion in Spot.ph's Top Ten Homemade Ice Cream brands.
