Just take a look at the stylish cabanas, and imagine endless rounds of libations paired with the world class cuisine Nobu is known the world over plus the captivating beats by guest DJs and you have all the elements for an epic weekender sundown session at City of Dreams

A visit to Nobu Restaurant takes you deep inside the culinary world of iconic Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa with his distinctive new-style Japanese cuisine blending both traditional Japanese flavors with a cool modern and innovative style.

And you'll soon find out that each bite from the specialty menu of Nobu Restaurant elevates and transforms the usual Friday night out with a tempting array masterful creations to tease the palate for a whole new and refreshing take on kickstarting the weekend...

...like the impressive Sushi Ocean 8 (P 1,550) with a fresh and succulent seafood medley of the day's freshest catch from the Chef's Selection. The vibrant briny sweetness of the seafood lines the palate with its fresh and clean flavors, and that's just the start of an evening with endless culinary possibilities at Nobu Restaurant.

No visit to Nobu Restaurant is complete without their signature dishes like the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño (P 880)...

...and the Salmon Tataki with Karashi su Miso (P 990), the perfect duo to acquaint yourself with the world-renowned new-style Japanese cuisine of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Not your usual sashimi, Nobu Restaurant infuses complex layers of flavorful notes from the soothing heat of jalapeños to the bold yet refined flavors of Japanese mustard and miso to complement the fresh and delicate nuanced profiles of  Yellowtail and salmon in a masterful and refined balanced finish.

Inspired by the colorful palette of global cuisine, Nobu Restaurant serves some of the most inventive east meets west creations with its trademark Nobu flair like the Nobu Tacos in Pork with Soy Shallot (P 230), Salmon with Spicy Miso (P 220) and Tuna with Tomato Salsa (P 240). The clean flavors from premium ingredients brings a delectable play on contrasting textures and fresh, rich savory notes with each bite and soon you'll be going for another piece.

A bowl of the Rock Shrimp Tempura (P 1,200) in Creamy Spicy, Creamy Jalapeño or Butter Ponzu is yet another culinary treat at Nobu Restaurant. Imagine succulent shrimps draped in a light and delicately crisp batter slathered in a creamy and flavorful sauce with each bite delivering a fresh and briny sweetness to the palate followed by that light crunch. The flavors are capped by the Creamy Spicy, Creamy Jalapeño or Butter Ponzu. Fridays just got better with the lavish dishes at Nobu Restaurant. And there's more...

The Black Cod Butter Lettuce (P 420/piece) is another Nobu specialty with premium black cod on garden-fresh and crisp lettuce topped with kataifi or vermicelli-like pastry strings and microgreens. The deep rich flavors and sweetness of the miso-marinated black cod comes through followed by the layers of crisp textures from the lettuce and kataifi. Like all Japanese dishes, Nobu Restaurant's inspired take with its new-style cuisine first feeds the eyes before the palate. The sensory experience is culminated with a bite releasing a burst of flavors and contrasting textures.

A few more tasty nibbles calls for some libations, and Nobu Restaurant has an equally impressive selection of refreshing handcrafted cocktails and spirits including their line of Signature Sake, fine wines, local and imported beer like the classic San Miguel Pale Pilsen, San Miguel LightKirin and Asahi, liquor or mocktails. A tipple paired with intricately prepared savory bites, can it get better than that?

My pick is the Japanese Sidecar (P 560), a refreshing sweet and tart concoction made with premium Iwai Blended Whiskey. The lingering notes of the premium whiskey blend adds a flavorful depth with each sip rounded out by the refreshingly crisp sharpness of citrus hints. One more round? Absolutely.

If it's a special night, Nobu Restaurant has a bottle for a festive Friday Chill-Out with friends like the Bottega Gold Prosecco Brut (P 4,600). Raise a toast, and the evening is just getting started at Nobu Restaurant...

As the guest DJ spins her tunes, the kitchen at Nobu Restaurant serves up more of their specialty dishes from their fresh selection of sushi and maki like the Shrimp Tempura (P 270 Hand/P 390 Cut) for sumptuous bites. Other options include the Bigeye Tuna (P 290 Hand/P 380 Cut), Spicy Bigeye Tuna (P 280/P 390), Salmon Avocado (P 390/P 490), California (P 450/P 600), Salmon Skin (P 240/P 390), Vegetable (P 230/P 340), House Special (P 600) and Soft Shell Crab (P 620).

Fresh off the grill, Nobu Restaurant also offers more savory options like Kushiyaki or skewers of Vegetables (P 320), Chicken (P 400) and Shrimp (P 720) draped in Teriyaki, Wasabi-Pepper or Anticucho. The bold flavors and sweet salty notes of the Teriyaki, the flavorful punch of Wasabi-Pepper or deep smoky hints of the Anticucho combine for even more tasty bites to a perfect weekender at City of Dreams Manila

Salads may be the last thing on your mind on a Friday night out, but Nobu Restaurant makes the case with two of their popular offerings starting with the Warm Mushroom Salad (P 560) with the rich, deep, nutty and earthy flavors of mushrooms reimagined in a sumptuous salad...

...and the Tomato Matsuhisa Salad (P 300) with the bright and vibrant summery notes of fresh and tart tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, plump shrimps and ikura or fish roe spinning a flavorful weave.

Dessert? The Nobu Halo-Halo (P 420) with coconut water snow, yuzu gelée, green tea crisps, Adzuki beans, coconut sesame mochi, sweet condensed milk and ube ice cream is the perfect sweet ending to Friday Chill-Out at City of Dreams. Each decadent spoonful just melts in your mouth releasing creamy and sweet coconut notes followed by a textural play from the other components. It's a cool spin on a local staple with that distinctive Nobu style.

Other dessert options include the Miso Cappuccino (P 385), Nobu Cheesecake (P 440) and a variety of ice cream or sorbet selections.

One last Japanese Sidecar for the road...
