Pillow soft with a luscious silky smooth filling, could this be the most indulgent and perfect doughnut?

That uniquely Japanese culture of uncompromising perfection is lavishly showcased in the latest culinary offering from Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. One bite of the new Nama Doughnuts with its decadent Mascarpone and custard filling is enough to remind you that the Japanese culture of perfection is an enduring tradition that's alive and well in this new normal. It's no surprise that the soft and delicate yet indulgent Nama Doughnuts are creating quite the buzz back in Japan as one of the year's exciting food trends. And Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory brings it to Manila. Ready for a #NAMAzing day? Read on and take a peek at what could be the perfect doughnut...

From the specially developed flour, rich and creamy butter made from Hokkaido milk down to the specific frying oil and the intricate and delicate culinary techniques involving precise temperatures and time, the new Nama Doughnut by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is the end result of the finest ingredients and masterful execution in one decadent creation. At Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, perfection is served every day with their specialty pancakes, milk pies, ice cream, Cheese Cookies and the iconic Japanese Milk Cheesecake (for more on Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, see my post Savory and Sweet: Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Opens Second Branch at Estancia Mall from 2020). And Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory right here at the new Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC will be the first location in the world to offer the brand's new Nama Doughnuts

Created by the Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory in Japan, Chef Yuichi Inoue and his team recently visited Manila to train and familiarize the local staff with the intricate Japanese techniques for the Nama Doughnuts and ensure its unique texture. Because this isn't your usual doughnut. From its soft cloud-like yet dense consistency to its decadent filling, the NAMA Doughnut stands out from the rest with its distinctive finish. And yes, the NAMA Doughnuts are best enjoyed immediately freshly made from the store, warm or at room temperature for that lavish mouth feel. For those taking home a precious box of these decadent creations, resist the urge to stash it in the fridge as cooling will totally alter its texture. Then again, you don't need to be reminded as your appetite takes over once you open the box.

Once you open the box, the fresh and fragrant buttery aroma triggers your appetite in the first of many sensory experiences feeding the eyes before the palate. The new Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory NAMA Doughnuts are available per piece or a box of five. Trust me, go for the box of five. And another box for good measure. And thank me later.

The doughnut base is what differentiates the new NAMA Doughnuts from the usual options, transformed with its unbelievably soft and dense texture. As is or with a silky smooth and rich filling, these doughnuts become the perfect vessel for an indulgent experience like no other doughnut. Fried with a special oil, the NAMA doughnuts are not as greasy as the commercial variety of hard chewy doughnuts. It's doughnuts, elevated.

The new NAMA Doughnuts by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory are available in three variants, the Classic NAMA Doughnut (P 95 per piece/P 435 per box) without any filling allowing you to enjoy the natural flavors of the ingredients in its purest form along with its pillow-soft finish; the Rare Cheese NAMA Doughnut (P 135 per piece/P 635 per box) with its tangy cream filling tossed with a sprinkling of sugar for both texture and flavor and the Mascarpone & Custard (P 135 per piece/P 635 per box) dusted with powdered sugar and filled with a generous blend of rich Mascarpone cream and sweet custard for a double dose of creamy indulgence.

My box of five from Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory contained the Mascarpone & Custard NAMA Doughnuts sprinkled with powdered sugar. A gentle touch of its pillow-soft texture immediately tells you this isn't your regular doughnut. Far from it. The difference becomes perceptible by touch adding one more tactile layer to the overall sensory experience.

A big bite simply drives the point and seals the deal. The sheer elegance of its delicate and soft texture followed by the luscious and decadently smooth filling drapes the palate with an indulgent richness you simply won't find in any other doughnut. Not too sweet, another bite adds one more layer of silky smooth indulgence from the dough to the lavish filling of Mascarpone and sweet custard. The filling completes the experience, made from the finest Hokkaido milk for fresh, clean and creamy notes.

Everything starts from the finest ingredients followed by a masterful execution with skillful precision. In true Japanese style, the culture of perfection is experienced with just the feel, aroma and bite of the new NAMA Doughnuts by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. In addition to the Japanese Milk Cheesecake, Cheese Cookies and Cow Cow Ice Hokkaido style soft-serve ice cream, you can add the new NAMA Doughnuts to your list.

More than just another food trend, the new NAMA Doughnuts by Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is a reflection of a uniquely cultural obsession with perfection as seen in Japanese arts, technology and culinary creations setting the highest standards for excellence. Can this be the perfect doughnut? It probably is. Why not take a bite and experience it yourself? You can experience what may be the perfect doughnut with the new NAMA Doughnuts, exclusively available at the newest Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory retail branch in Mitsukoshi Mall BGC. Enjoy a fresh bite at the store, take home a box or two and discover pure and unrestrained doughnut perfection.
