It's back. And just in time for meatless Fridays and the Lenten season too...

Flavors Restaurant, Holiday Inn & Suites Makati's all-day buffet dining restaurant, brings back its popular Poke Bowls for all weekends of Lent starting March 15, 2019 to April 21 as part of their extensive buffet spread. Meatless Fridays? No worries. Have a sumptuous Poke Bowl instead...(for more on the previous Poke Bowl offering at Flavors Restaurant, see my earlier post, Poke Bowl Days at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati from last year).

At the Japanese Section, your customized Poke Bowl begins with the freshest ingredients (for more on Flavors Restaurant, see my previous posts, Pancakes, Waffles and Rustic Mornings at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati's Flavors Restaurant and All-American: The American Food Festival and Burger Bar at Holiday Inn & Suites).

From the day's freshest catch of salmon and tuna, garden-fresh red cabbage, carrots, cucumber, avocado, sweet mangoes and edamame to seaweed, nori, fish roe, pickled vegetables, steamed Japanese rice or organic rice and sesame seeds, making your own customized Poke Bowl is easy at Flavors Cafe. But it's the sauces that add that flavorful punch, five in all, with Korean Sweet & Spicy Sauce, Sriracha Mayo, Ponzu Vinaigrette, Hawaiian Sauce, and Spicy Soy Sauce. The Sriracha Mayo is a favorite, but you can come back for seconds and try all the other special sauces. The Korean Sweet & Spicy Sauce works well with the Ponzu Vinaigrette in a surprising combination. And that's what adds an element of fun when making your own Poke Bowl at Flavors Restaurant.

To get you started, the station chefs can help you create your customized Poke Bowl, simply point to your preferred ingredients...

...capped by that final topping of fish roe and nori...

...and your Poke Bowl is ready.

Light, refreshing and full of vibrant flavors, the Poke Bowl brings rich and contrasting layers of flavors from the briny sweetness of the fresh tuna and salmon, the tart and sweet mangoes and crisp vegetables followed by the nutty hints of nori and that burst of richness from the fish roe. The Sriracha Mayo completes the flavors perfectly.

Seconds? Absolutely. Make another bowl, this time with a different sauce. The Spicy Soy Sauce brings comfortingly familiar notes to your Poke Bowl, while the Hawaiian Sauce delivers a refreshing sweetness. Or combine the Korean Sweet & Spicy Sauce with the Ponzu Vinaigrette on your next Poke Bowl, your call.

You can make your own customized Poke Bowl and come back for seconds and more at Flavors Restaurant for only P 800 net per person for all Lenten weekends starting March 15, 2019 all the way to April 21. If you want your Poke Bowl along with the other buffet offerings at Flavors Restaurant, go for the Lunch or Dinner Buffet on weekends for only P 1,850 net per person. Meatless Fridays? I can deal with that...with two to three Poke Bowls at Flavors Restaurant.

Flavors Restaurant is located at the Lobby Level of Holiday Inn & Suites Makati, Palm Drive,  Ayala Center, Makati City or call 632-909-0888 for inquiries and reservations.
