Sun, sea and sand. Essential elements in a perfect weekend escape. Add some good food and you've got the perfect vacation...
Amorita Resort Bohol brings you all these elements in an elegant package, and you can have sun, sea and sand and a whole lot of good eats in one of Panglao Island's premier destinations. And if Spanish cuisine and tapas is what you love, Amorita Resort can easily satisfy your cravings...
The recent launch of AirAsia's new Santan In-FlightMeals brought me to this idyllic destination (for more on AirAsia's new in-flight meals, see my earlier post, #AirAsiaInBohol: Savor Comforting Local Flavors with the New AirAsia Santan In-Flight Meals). Vibrant flavors up in the skies, and equally flavorful culinary experiences at Amorita Resort, just can't get better than that. After all, dining well adds another layer to that perfect vacation and Amorita Resort's got that covered.
At Tomar Tapas x Bar, diners can indulge in authentic Spanish flavors, including tapas and round after round of sangrias while enjoying the sunset. Located at the second level, above Amorita Resort's signature Saffron Restaurant, Tomar Tapas x Bar offers panoramic views of the resort's pools and the azure waters of the Bohol Sea.
That evening, Amorita Resort's Executive Chef Onie Castillo (R) and his team prepared a lavish Spanish feast to cap our first night in a tropical getaway down south. A few rounds of sangria gets you in the right groove, and your vacation in one of Bohol's luxurious destinations is off to a great start.
Executive Chef Onie Castillo served up a variety of elegant and tasty Pintxos, including Manchego Cheese drizzled with balsamic reduction...
...quail eggs on crisp toast...
...chorizo and Spanish sardines before the savory mains. Each tasty bite is delicately arranged on the wooden boards reflecting the attention to detail and elegant personal style of Chef Onie Castillo. Good food is part of the experience at Amorita Resort (more on my earlier post, #AmoritaXAirAsia: Three Days at Amorita Resort Bohol).
The staff at Tomar Tapas x Bar then served the other starters, including hearty Croquetas with its delicate rich flavors and delectable textural contrast...
...followed by Gambas with plump and succulent shrimps draped in the nutty richness of olive oil with hints of soothing heat from the chili...
...and crisp Calamares, deep-fried battered squid drizzled with creamy aioli. And that's just for starters.
For the mains, Chef Onie Castillo served a duo of classic paella dishes that evening, including the traditional Paella Negra with soft and fluffy rice simmered in squid ink and topped with a variety of fresh seafood...
...and the all-time favorite, Paella Valenciana. At Amorita Resort, good food is a part of your experience, adding yet another layer to that perfect escape down south.
Another round of sangria, followed by another. Good times.
For dessert, Chef Onie Castillo served his indulgent Churros, rich choux pastry delicately deep-fried with a light and perfect crispness...
...completed with a generous dab of thick Spanish chocolate. Just perfect. Sun, sea and sand, you get all that at Amorita Resort. And good food too.
And AirAsia can get fly you there with just a few clicks on your laptop or mobile device...
