It's a tasty piece of the iconic city's rich flavors, draped in indulgent chocolate and delicately packed in a box...
Since 1921, See's Candies has served a selection of decadent chocolate treats to generations of loyal customers. And receiving a box of San Francisco's famous See's Candies just brought back a lot fond memories from a road trip in the US some seven years ago (more on that epic road trip on my blog's very first post here at A Thousand Miles). More than just a box of chocolates, it's the best of San Francisco in a box...
I remember my first time entering one their stores so many years ago and the fragrant aroma of nutty chocolate still lingers. After an early lunch at Swan Oyster Depot (for more on San Francisco's legendary Swan Oyster Depot, see my post from seven years back at Swan Oyster Depot: A True San Francisco Landmark), heading off for another taste of the city by the bay was pretty convenient, with a See's Candies store located right beside Swan Oyster Depot (sadly, the See's Candies store is no longer there, having closed and moved to another location). It's true what they say, flavors and food often trigger memories, and See's Candies is one of those tasty bites that takes you back with its pure chocolate indulgence.
See's Candies'San Francisco Assortment offers eleven distinct chocolate creations, including the Milk California Brittle, Dark Almonds, Milk Chocolate Butter, Cashew Brittle, Milk Molasses Chip, Milk Bordeaux, Dark Chocolate Chip Truffle, Dark Butterchew, Scotchmallow, Walnut Square, and Caramel. Each one is absolutely pure chocolate bliss. There's the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and downtown's historic buildings (check out my post on San Francisco's elegant buildings here at Side Views: Looking Up in Downtown San Francisco), and there's See's Candies. Special thanks to a friend for sending a box of San Francisco's best, and for bringing back fond memories of an epic road trip so many years ago...
