A Late Afternoon Food Crawl at W Global Center

Three restaurants. One afternoon. One simple game plan. It's a late afternoon food crawl at W Global Center...

With five distinct restaurants conveniently located right beside each other at the ground floor of W Global Center (all managed by Global Restaurant Concepts), an afternoon food crawl is not only convenient and easy, it's fun too. The game plan was simple. Sample a few signature dishes from one resto in an unhurried and relaxed pace, before heading to the next one just a few steps away.

A good salad is always a great starter, and Mad for Garlic's Caprese Salad (P 625), rich and creamy buffalo mozzarella with juicy fresh tomatoes in a flavorful basil dressing is the opening dish in an epic afternoon food crawl. Light yet full of flavor, it's an excellent starter.

We proceed with a second salad dish from Mad for Garlic. one with its signature fried garlic flakes, the Fresh Spinach Salad (P 265), generously covered with thinly-sliced, crisp, fried garlic and a balsamic vinaigrette. Refreshingly different, and if you enjoy crucnhy garlic (who doesn't?), you'll enjoy this.

After the initial salad dishes, we then walk a few steps to P.F. Chang, and immediately go for the Chicken Lettuce Wraps (P 395). A spoonful of the tasty chicken, some crispy noodles on fresh lettuce, and roll away. The flavorful chicken and crisp noodles and lettuce add layers of flavors and textures in every bite, a light starter and a must try at P.F. Chang.

Wonton Soup (P 380), simple, fresh, clean flavors in a bowl, served steaming hot with mushrooms and vegetables. One order is good for four, perfect for sharing.

Steamed Pork Dumplings (P 165), soft, delicately flavored dim sum, a perfect dish for an afternoon food crawl. No mid-afternoon food crawl is complete without some dim sum.

Crispy Pork Wontons (P 165), another light dish, deep-fried to crispy perfection, served with a sweet chili sauce.

Sichuan Style Asparagus (P 290), spicy, stir-fried asparagus with a tasty crunch. The freshness of the asparagus is immediately evident at the very first bite, with a delicious crispness complemented by a sweet and spicy sauce.

Crispy Honey Shrimp (P 475) fried shrimps with a sweet honey glaze, served on crisp noodles, another cool combo of flavors and textures.

After P.F. Chang, the thought of butter pecan and bacon lured me to IHOP.  IHOP's Original Belgian Waffles with two eggs sunny side up and two crisp strips of bacon (P 285). Nothing like breakfast in the afternoon, without the long lines. A perfect ending to a cool afternoon food crawl.

Mad for Garlic, P.F. Chang and IHOP. A variety of culinary styles and flavors, all conveniently beside each other. California Pizza Kitchen and Gyu-Kaku are also located in W Global Center, so you have even more choices for your very own food crawl. A mid-afternoon food crawl lets you sample different dishes, without the usual meal time crowd. And W Global Center has it all.

Mad for Garlic, P.F. Chang and IHOP are located at W Global Center, 9th Avenue corner 30th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
